Since my last post I had a hard drive failure and lost all my work since July, including the two drawings I posted recently. So, I decided to redraw the dandelion image.
Last time I used tile clones but looking back on it the positioning of the fluff was far too geometric,
so I got rid of the tile clones idea and redrew each seed instead of generating them. I think this looks more natural.
Not quite sure what to do with the stalk yet.

Wow, two posts in a row. I’ve surpassed myself.
Today I’ve been messing around with Inkscape. I made these spirograph flower designs and thought I could use it for table numbers for the reception. I’m not set on this but I thought I’d post it up anyway.
I’m trying to avoid the traditional look without looking too childish or too homemade. It’s hard.
The bid to escape Dundee is underway and I’ve been looking into new options for my home office. Our current place is huge by city-centre standards but I know when we eventually get to Edinburgh we won’t have such a large flat so I’m looking into new ways to arrange my office.
Here’s how it looks at the moment:

The desk area is pretty much all Ikea and the other half of the room is taken up with those cheap and nasty metal shelving units to hold the products as well as my packing desk. (more…)
I just thought I’d post a link to possibly the coolest piece of design ever seen. Pear Light. I think I found a link to it on makezine or one of the other feeds I subscribe to. The pears are detachable and continue to glow when not on the tree which brings me to this almost equally cool concept a wireless floating light bulb.
Pesky creative people… Why can’t I come up with cool stuff like that?!
